Abstract:
This case study primarily helps in discussing the competitive landscape of Indian logistics sector, assessing and analysing the competitive advantage of Transport Corporation of India (TCI). It helps in analysing the importance of logistics companies in India in the light of role of retail boom. This case can also be used for debating over the new operating model that TCI should adopt to compete effectively in the changing Indian logistics sector.
Vibrancy in Indian economy is reflected by many sectors and logistics is one among them. During the last decade, it has been blessed with many a positive trend – expanding manufacturing sector, growing retail sector demands, new regions (hitherto neglected) being integrated to mainstream economy and improving infrastructure. All these, together, are multiplying demand for integrated logistic solutions. Longstanding logistics company, TCI launched its integrated logistic solutions under ‘Supply Chain Solution’ (SCS) brand. TCI is targeting to simultaneously meet compounding demand for logistics and growing competition effectively with its Supply Chain Solution
